A Message from the Director

In a recent conversation with one of our clients, he reminded me of these words of Solomon: “Vanity of vanities! All is vanity,” and “There is no remembrance of former things.” (Ecclesiastes 1:2b, 11a, ESV)

Much of what we chase after and accumulate is of little or no eternal value. Even in our estate planning, we can get so caught up in the transfer of assets that we miss seeing the bigger picture.

Your estate plan is your final opportunity to communicate with family and the world about what is important to you. This is partially done through distributions, but inheritance is about far more than dollars, land, or possessions. What’s more significant are the beliefs, values, and principles you transfer to future generations.

What are your greatest hopes for your family? What messages do you want to ring through eternity? Your estate plan can and should be used to help declare these priorities to those you love. In this issue, you will read some ideas about how to do that.

When all is said and done, your decisions to be faithful to God will be far more important than just the money you transfer to others. Make your estate plan a powerful message of your Kingdom values that will make a difference for eternity.
