You can open a Stewards Fund account with an initial gift of $10,000 or more. After your initial gift, there is no minimum balance to maintain your account.

Barnabas Foundation provides you with a variety of opportunities to grow the balance in your Stewards Fund account, ranging from conservative to aggressive investment options.

There are no hidden fees to set up or maintain your Stewards Fund account.

A minimal asset management reimbursement (reflected in the schedule below) will be applied to each account to cover the following services:

• Administration, receipt and liquidation of assets
• Oversight of investments
• Administration and distribution of grants to charities.

1/12 of this amount is assessed monthly, calculated on an average daily account balance. In most instances, earnings on the invested funds are more than sufficient to cover the fees. This means the principal value of the gift is generally not used to satisfy the reimbursement.

The minimum amount for which you can recommend a grant to charity is $100.

Yes. You can recommend grants to any Christian or secular charity, so long as it is a 501(c)3 charity and the gift is in line with Barnabas Foundation’s distribution policies.

Barnabas Foundation will not approve the following distributions:

• To charitable organizations with a mission inconsistent with our Statement of Christian Faith, or for a specific purpose or project inconsistent with our Values and Principles.
• That confer an impermissible private benefit upon any individual(s), such as:
  • To pay for school or collect tuition for a specific individual.
  • Related to a charitable auction for which the donor has received something in return for the grant.
  • To pay dues or membership fees.
  • To purchase tickets to a benefit.
• To fund a pre-existing, binding pledge that the donor is legally obligated to fulfill. However, donors may generally make commitments to campaigns, intending to fulfill the commitments (non-enforceable pledges) through their Stewards Fund.
• For lobbying, political contributions or political campaigns.

Yes! When you make a grant recommendation, you can specify that you would like to remain anonymous.

Yes! It’s simple to set up automated quarterly or monthly distributions from your Stewards Fund account through your online account.
