Jim Eriksen named newest member of planning team
Barnabas Foundation welcomes Jim Eriksen, J.D., as the newest member of the planning team. As director of planning, Jim will augment the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to help generous Christians develop God-honoring estate plans that support the needs of their families, churches and favorite ministries.
Jim has extensive leadership experience in planned giving and advancement, as well as in private practice as an estate planning attorney. Before joining the Barnabas Foundation team, he was the director of estate and gift planning for The Jackson Laboratory, a nonprofit biomedical research institution based in Bar Harbor, Maine. Prior to that, he served the University of Louisville for more than 10 years, including as executive director of estate and gift planning. He has also been senior director of gift planning at Azuza Pacific University and general counsel for Jews for Jesus.

Jim holds a Juris Doctor degree and a master’s degree in international human rights, both from Trinity Law School in Santa Ana, California. He also received his bachelor’s in English literature from the University of California, Irvine. He has served on the boards of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning of Kentuckiana, the National Association of Women’s Business Owners Foundation (Louisville), Access Justice (Louisville), the American Liberties Institute (Orlando), and the Salvation Army (Louisville).
A native of Southern California and currently a resident of Louisville, Kentucky, Jim will serve Barnabas Foundation clients throughout the United States.
