50 Years of Generosity

A Message from the Director

We often get laser-focused on what’s happening today and the challenges we are facing.

It’s easy to think that our success or failure depends on our work, while often missing the broader picture of what God has been doing through the decades.

Today, I’m happy to reflect on God’s work and the story of His faithfulness through Barnabas Foundation.

For the past 50 years, Barnabas Foundation has been helping thousands of generous Christians transfer their wealth in ways that honor God, provide for their families and support the causes close to their hearts.

While I love being part of today’s story, it is just a small part of something much bigger.

We are standing on the shoulders of many leaders, staff members, board members and other faith-led visionaries who have helped make this ministry what it is today.

In particular, I want to honor the founders, Robert den Dulk, Bill Weidenaar, Case Hoogendoorn and Dave Vander Ploeg (who later became executive director).

Additionally, our executive directors, Dr. Dennis Hoekstra (1979-1993), Dave Vander Ploeg (1993-2000) and Henry Doorn (2000-2015), were all instrumental in stewarding the work of Barnabas Foundation.

I’m also thankful for you, the faithful men and women of God who continue to give openhandedly as the Holy Spirit leads you.

Thank you for entrusting us to be part of your generosity story!

For those who came before me, for those who walk beside me and for those who will continue to serve Barnabas Foundation long after my time is done, thank you.

It is my joy and honor to live out God’s big story with you.
